Women’s Health Africa Summit 2026
Women’s healthis central toAfrica’s future.
The Women’s Health Africa Summit (WHAS) is a Nigeria-led continental platform working to bring these pieces closer together—and advance women’s health across the life course.
Countdown to
WHAS Abuja
Tuesday, 1 December 2026 · Curated, invitation-only dialogue
Across the continent, knowledge exists. Solutions are emerging. Commitments have been made.
The challenge is connecting political leadership, evidence, investment and the systems that turn ambition into care women can actually access.
02 Why WHAS
The gap is not only what we know. It is what reaches women.
A promising innovation needs evidence, investment and a path to reach the women it was designed to serve.
A policy needs financing, capable systems and the practical conditions that make delivery possible.
And commitments to women’s health need connections between the people who shape priorities, allocate resources and deliver care.
WHAS exists to help strengthen those connections.
It does not replace Africa’s existing health priorities or continental frameworks. It creates space to advance them—connecting leadership, practical solutions and investment around shared priorities.
Across the life course
Advancing women’s health across the life course.

03 Three priorities. One connected agenda.
What would it take to move from ambition to action?

Priority 01
Which solutions are ready to be tested, backed or scaled?
New diagnostics, digital tools, artificial intelligence and data systems are expanding what may be possible for women’s health. The task is to identify solutions with genuine promise, understand the evidence behind them and connect them to the support they need to work in real-world settings.
The focusPromising solutions, relevant evidence and pathways to testing, investment and scale.

Priority 02
What would make women’s health a stronger investment proposition?
Political commitment matters. So does a clear case for where resources are needed, what they can enable and how progress can be assessed. WHAS aims to help connect the evidence for women’s health with the public, philanthropic, development finance and private-sector partners positioned to support it.
The focusA stronger shared evidence base, well-structured investment propositions and prospective financing partnerships.

Priority 03
What has to work between policy and care?
Between a policy adopted and a woman receiving care sit the everyday realities of health systems: a capable workforce, available supplies, diagnostics, referrals and reliable data. Progress depends on identifying the constraints that matter most and the practical steps that can help address them.
The focusPriority delivery constraints, practical interventions and country-led next steps.
04 Convenings
Two founding convenings. One continuing platform.
WHAS Addis
Continental launch and shaping
WHAS Addis introduces the platform to a continental audience and begins shaping its direction with the political leaders, funders, practitioners, innovators and partners already advancing women’s health.
The purpose is to establish the proposition, surface priorities and constraints, and open conversations about the partnerships needed to move the agenda forward.
WHAS Abuja
Curated political and delivery dialogue
WHAS Abuja is designed as a curated, invitation-only dialogue that deepens the agenda with selected political, funding and delivery partners.
Building on the priorities and partner interest surfaced through WHAS Addis, the Abuja convening will explore practical opportunities across innovation, financing and delivery, and prospective commitments and collaboration.
Between and beyond
Not a single event. A platform for continued work.
The convenings are moments within a wider effort. Stakeholder engagement, country dialogue, partner development and digital storytelling can help sustain attention on the priorities beyond the meetings themselves.
05 The work continues
Keep the conversation connected to action.
Women’s health deserves more than occasional attention. It needs sustained dialogue between the people shaping policy, generating evidence, financing solutions and delivering care.
Through continued engagement and digital conversations, WHAS aims to keep practical questions visible, share relevant perspectives and create further opportunities for collaboration.

06 Partner with WHAS
Where could your work help move the agenda forward?
WHAS seeks to connect with organisations whose expertise, evidence, resources and practical experience can contribute to advancing women’s health through innovation, financing and delivery.
We welcome partnership conversations with relevant institutions, funders, innovators, technical organisations, implementing partners and media organisations.
Partnership is by invitation and alignment with the platform’s priorities.
